Superbugs could cause a disaster worse than Covid if we don’t act

You might have thought top policymakers might have learned some big lessons from the staggering Covid-19 shock of the past two years, but quite often it seems not. 

Yes, policymakers learned big lessons about the role of vaccines in responding to future viral infections with more pharmaceutical companies in the space and lots of hope that existing vaccines can be tweaked reasonably easily and quickly. But what about the so-called silent pandemic of antimicrobial resistance (AMR)?
